  • The memorial wall in Camberwell old cemetery.

Today I finally visited the wall in my local cemetery. It was a typical white military memorial wall with the rank/name/location are engraved on.

I walked past it many times but since it was located right in the edge of cemetery I hadn’t got the chance. I looked through all the names and ranks and a few offerings(a poppy cross and a Xmas wreath) and when I was looking at a few separated headstones I found out they’re post WWII as the dates were all in 1946-47.

Then I heard this weird and LOUD sound like a helicopter was flying over me. I felt NO wind nor did I see the fkkn helicopter. The sound was from outside(the wall’s located at the very end of the cemetery, and next to it is main road) but I’ve never EVER heard anything like that when I was on the road. It wasn’t a bus, or any types of motor. I was standing there trying to find where it’s from but not too long after it was gone.

Before the incident I was deeply touched and being sentimental by seeing all the names and imagining their life as soldiers, etc…and all those saddened feelings were gone by the time I walked out from the memorial.
